Comfort for your loved ones and the relief families deserve.
There is nothing easy about a family member with advancing dementia – from diagnosis to care everything is a challenge. Even selecting a memory care community is fraught with hard choices. We’re here to help you through the process so that you feel at ease and have a sense of peace once you make your decision.
At The Madison, our staff trains with top dementia educators to provide the highest quality personalized care.
The cottage is structured to offer an engaging and supportive environment. By focusing on dignity, quality of life, and independence, we strive to ensure all residents feel respected and cared for as they age, regardless of what they remember today or tomorrow.
Memory Care Apartments
Memory Care at The Madison consists of finding the right balance between residents having a private space to call their own and also participating in daily activity throughout the community. Memory Care apartments were designed so residents can safely and easily navigate in addition to finding the necessities of life without trouble.
Assigned Life Enrichment Coordinators
Quality care begins with strong relationships. We partner life enrichment coordinators and residents – so personal bonds of trust and friendship can be fostered. By interacting with the same set of residents consistently, we are able to focus on developing communication skills unique to each resident and better identify small changes in health and wellness that could otherwise be missed.
Security should never make a resident feel restricted. This is why we integrate safety systems in discreet, unobtrusive ways so that Memory Care remains a welcoming, warm environment.
The Madison’s Memory Care features specialized activity stations, called Life Stations™, throughout our Memory Care. These areas resemble important aspects of life, capturing the resident’s attention to promote engagement opportunities. Our Life Enrichment Coordinators also create life boxes that are specific to residents!
Sometimes it feels like seniors who suffer from memory loss cannot engage in meaningful activity. At The Madison, we believe exactly the opposite. It may take time and effort, but one of our core goals is to get residents engaged and active in their own ways.
A robust dining strategy is one of the core features of our Memory Care cottage. Designed to engage the senses and activate the appetite, our specialized dining program ensures proper nutrition and an excitement for meal time.
Alzheimer’s and other dementias can make once automatic grooming habits seem impossible. Residents at The Madison receive daily attention in this area, as well as regular trips to our salon. We want to ensure that they always feel presentable and proud of their appearance.
Providing care for residents with dementia is a highly specialized skill. Our team is trained in effective communication strategies to determine how to respond to any limitations that a resident may have in being understood. We focus on empathy and study techniques for managing through behavioral challenges and redirection with the goal of engaging each resident in meaningful ways.
Our Memory Care leadership has the tools, expertise, and heart to give attention that is second to none. They make sure that everything is running smoothly and that residents have all that they need. They are always expanding their knowledge base with further education and understand the importance of being proactive in care.
